This Quarter’s Outreach

St. Elizabeth Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and is an affiliate agency of Catholic Charities. The Center is also supported by Catholic Foundations of NWPA, Second Harvest Food Bank of NWPA, PNC Charitable Trusts, and the United Way of Venango County. The Center operates its programs and services with two staff members and many generous volunteers that give their time to help the community. St. Elizabeth is a food pantry/social service agency and thrift store (which is open to the public) that supports the pantry’s mission to help those in need.

Missions and Outreach

Budget tithing: The congregation sets aside 10% of its annual budgeted receipts for mission support.  

  • LCMS Eastern District (4%): Assists with District operating expenses and District-funded national and international missions.
  • Social Ministry Outreach (2%):  Contributes to local support organizations and assists with local community needs, such as:  Purchase of food vouchers and/or utility bills as needed; St Elizabeth Center; Salvation Army; United Way; ABC Life Center.
  • Outreach (4%):  Supports at-large mission needs as they arise and provides matching funds for quarterly mission collections, such as Ukraine Relief. 

Quarterly Mission Collections:  A mission focus is designated for each quarter and is supported through congregational giving.  Recipients in 2022:

    • St. Elizabeth Center
    •  Life Center, Franklin, Pa.
    • Ft. Wayne, IN. Seminary Co-Op – Assistance for students and families
    • TBD

Additional outreach collections:

  • Support-the-Troop’s: Collected needed items for our military troops.
  • “Samaritan’s Purse”/ Operation Christmas Child:  Shoe-box gift packages for children.
  • In the photos below shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child are being taped, prayed over and loaded for delivery. These boxes will be added to thousands of others and put into the hands of kids around the world. The kids will receive small gifts along with the Good News of Jesus!
